Our Story

 The Cohiba Cowboys (pronounced co-hee-ba) came together in 2023, when lifelong friends and musicians Dan Cumbo (lead guitar and vocals) and Mark Samons (lead vocals and guitar) got together to record a project album of original songs. They were soon joined by two more old friends and musicians, Doug Evans (drums) and Greg Trapp (bass and vocals), and the Cohiba Cowboys were complete. The band covers a lot of different flavors in their music, with influences from country, rock and the blues. It all comes together to make for a good listen and a good time.

All the guys are longtime residents of Central Ohio and have played in lots of popular local bands of various styles over the years, including Ray Fuller and the Bluesrockers, the Eric Moore Band, Terry Davidson and the Gears, Shok II Twenty and the Jesse Squire Band, to name a few. Now together as the Cohiba Cowboys, they blend their musical talents to craft fresh original music that varies from acoustic flavored ballads to straight up rock-n-roll.

Their first album, titled "The Ride",  can be heard on Soundcloud and other popular streaming platforms, and on the Listen page of this website.  The band is currently working on their second studio album, as well as, recording some live tracks and a video to post online.
